External Quality Assessment / Independent Validation of Self-Assessment for Internal Audit

Internal audit functions are increasingly being scrutinized by internal and external stakeholders as to their effectiveness and operational efficiency. In other words: do senior management and board receive effective and reliable assurance opinions, and does the organisation as a whole get good value for money from their internal auditors.

The professional standards* of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) require that internal audit functions undergo an external quality assessment, at least every five years. This can be a genuine external assessment or an internal self-assessment with subsequent independent validation.

As an IIA accredited and certified Quality Assessor, we offer such services for internal audit functions of all sizes and from all sectors. We offer good value for money and our evaluation will be comprehensive, thorough, and honest, based on the recommended IIA guidelines.

If your internal audit function has not been independently assessed in the recent past, please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
